Drug Product Movers & Shakers Advertising in Professional Health Journals through April 2013

Among the top 25 drugs advertising in professional health journals from the beginning of 2013 until the end of April, there have been several large increases in dollars spent when compared to the same time period of 2012.

Print Ad Drug Products with Large Increases (Dollars): Jan. – April 2013

#1 Zytiga – $3 MM (+246%)

#2 Lyrica Capsules – $2 MM (+65%)

#3 Eliquis Tablets – $1 MM (+22,989%)

#4 Jentadueto - $775,000 (+48%)

#5 Humalog KwikPen – $766,000 (+114%)

Jentadueto is used to treat type 2 diabetes, while the Humalog KwikPen is used to treat type 1 diabetes in adults. The latter is also used in conjunction with oral medications to treat type 2 diabetes in adults.

Note that this does not include products that have launched since April 2012.
