Nurse Practitioners’ and Physician Assistants’ Use of Tablets Shows Growth
About a third of nurse practitioners and physician assistants use tablet devices for professional purposes, according to Kantar Media’s Sources & Interactions Study – Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners Edition. This percent has stayed steady year-over-year, increasing by only a few percentage points. Among the nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are tablet users, the type of mobile application used most often on their tablets is medical journals/newspapers/magazines. More than half use their tablets for these apps. The most popular task conducted by nurse practitioners and physician assistants on their tablets (besides accessing the Internet and checking email) is complete CME credits/units.
Kantar Media’s Sources & Interactions™ Studies offer a detailed examination of healthcare professionals’ online and mobile activities, e-detailing experience, and exposure to (and evaluation of) information sources including traditional and emerging media, pharma reps, CME, conventions and more. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Edition, conducted every year, is designed to profile physician assistants' and nurse practitioners’ media use in these areas of interest to healthcare marketers and media professionals.
