Popular Online Health Activities in the 2015 MARS Consumer Health Study

Of the 81 million people who used the Internet for health-related activities in the last 30 days, the majority are using the Web to find information about conditions and treatments. The chart above shows their most common actions related to digital health research, according to the 2015 MARS Consumer Health Study.

We found that men are 18% more likely to purchase and 20% more likely to compare prices of medications or other health products or services.

The 2015 MARS Consumer Health Study helps the industry make better decisions about how to incorporate online into pharmaceutical and OTC marketing strategies. The MARS Consumer Study has updated its methodology to online data collection, while still maintaining an offline component to measure ailments, media consumption and demographics across the entire U.S. adult population.
